Vocal Solo

Works for vocal solo are organized here by types of accompaniment: songs (accompanied by piano), works with orchestra or large ensemble with conductor, and unaccompanied works. Due to the sheer volume of art songs, we have separated them into two categories: those for any voice type and those for a specific voice type. (Admittedly, this is not always clear. If you spot an error, please use the contact button above to tell us!) We do not include opera arias except where they are presented by the composer as a stand-alone piece, and then they are also sorted based on accompaniment. If a work is accompanied by a keyboard instrument other than piano (usually harpsichord or organ), it will be included under Vocal Chamber.
